  Jill Johnson Vigil represented our family for an international adpotion and we were very impressed with her both in and out of the courtroom. We used her again for a custody dispute and were very pleased and satified with her and would recommended her to anyone in Las Cruces who is looking for a great family law attorney.

  I was, obviously, very unhappy with the entire experience with the firm. First they charge you $250 for a 15 minute consultation. None of which is applied towards your retainer. Then after they were made aware how incredibly limited funds I had to put toward this they burned through my entire retainer, without telling me it had been exceeded, filing 2 documents I'd have preferred to handle myself and meanwhile not accomplishing a single thing I hired them to do. And by that I don't mean the outcome, I mean they didn't do anything I specifically hired them to do. 90% of the reason I hired them was to make my life less stressful and all the succeeded in doing was making it infinitely more so. After the initial hiring it just began to feel like they were much more interested in maintaining their relationship with the opposing attorney (I probably should have gathered that from "we work with him all the time.") than in representing me as I wanted. Little things are beyond annoying, as well. They are not open Fridays, and don't respond to any e-mails or messages over the weekend. Even if you're waiting to hear if you need to get on a plane or drive to NM for a hearing that may or may not be happening. It takes a week to get return e-mail from them, but then I get admonished for not being available over Christmas. Really though not respecting my budget or schedule in any way and leaving me in a far worse state financially and time wise than when the whole process began was just ridiculous. It would have been infinitely easier and less stressful to just burn thousands of dollars. I realize every business has to make money, but most businesses are required to actually do something when paid thousands of dollars. Had they been honest up front and said they had no intention of staying within budget or simply didn't want to even attempt to that would have been fine, but instead they took my money and did nothing.
